Postdoctoral Opportunity: Trustworthy AI Assistants for Scientific Research

We are recruiting a postdoctoral researcher for a 24-month project supervised by Hugo Larochelle (Mila) and Ulrich Aïvodji (ÉTS/Mila) in Montréal, Canada 🇨🇦

The project explores how AI assistants can support scientific research while preserving rigor, fairness, diversity of perspectives, and verifiability.

🔍 Topics include: ✅ AI-assisted peer review and the evaluation of AI reviewers 🧠 Verifiable mathematical reasoning for AI/ML 📊 LLM evaluation, fairness, benchmarking, and trustworthy AI 🤝 Human-AI collaboration for scientific workflows

We are looking for candidates with a strong background in machine learning, NLP, trustworthy AI, or AI for science. Experience with Python, modern ML frameworks, LLM evaluation, theorem proving, or formal verification is especially welcome.

🎓 A PhD in computer science, machine learning, or a related field is required or should be near completion.
